Living near the sea

LIVING NEAR THE SEA

Hello everyone.  I was thinking about life in general, and living near the sea, in particular.  I have the pleasure of being about 100 yards from the North Sea in one direction and the Grampians hills and mountains about 10 miles inland.  Lovely!  Well, yes and no.  You see, the nearest train station is in a town called Keith, which is about 10 miles inland......and it gets cut off when it snows!!!  We live in a typical Scottish coastal village, which means half of it is  'up the brae' (up a steep hill) and the other half is 'doon the brae' (next to the sea!!!)  So when snow and ice comes, (and it does), you could get cut off from the rest of the village, depending on which part you live in.

So here is a photograph of my village in windy weather looking in one direction of the village:

And here is a view  not far from there, in calmer weather nearer to where the flat bit is and the tide is out:

Looking in the opposite direction, in the middle of winter, here is our beach heading looking towards Buckie after it has snowed:

And just to brighten things up, here it is just recently with a faint rainbow:

When we reach times in our lives when it all seems stormy,

we must never forget how calm it can become too.

I have made cards using the views from our area as well as using our dogs as it's just a natural thing to do.

Here is a poster made with Bess:

See you later

Word Art Wednesday

Words of Encouragement

Word Art Wednesday

Hello everyone.  I decided I would try and blog about my Word Art Wednesday card, which I intend to try and enter every week.  The challenge is all about using scripture and making a project with it.  This week, the scripture is from Matthew chapter 5 verse 16, and it says:

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Here is a little semonette about this scripture from where I see it:

Predominantly it seems at first as if we are being told to let people see our 'good works', which actually goes against the grain for me.  Yes, we should all be doing good works, but not so that WE get any thank you(s), or noticed, but so that other's can see that we whatever we are doing, it is done without fuss, so that other's will realise a higher power is helping us.....God is helping us.  When Jesus touched the leper, he did many things e.g.  Looking from the Sanhedrin's point of view He went against their law (they were never supposed to touch someone unclean).  Looking at it from the leper's point of view.....he believed Jesus was able to heal him. He would have been in awe of the fact that someone dared to touch him, and he would have realised very quickly the benefit of what was about to happen and indeed what did happen.

In the scripture for this week, I believe we are being reminded that the 'good works' should really be seen by others as only possible because of God's love in us.

Here is the card:

I hope you like it.

I will blog about something else a little bit later on....it's time for tea now.

Tired Today

Tired Today

I don't think it was all that blogging.......but you never know, do you?  My eyes are twitching and I want to sleep....... however, there are some things that keep me awake....like having to drive hubby and the doggies from one location and picking them up from another.

Only today was different, it was a completely new walk for them and it took 2 hours.........there I am sitting in the car, listening to music, dozing off and on, people coming and going...............when eventually I realised at last they had arrived.

Hubby promptly passed e the camera and said have a look at what I took, while I take the doggies to the beach to cool off!!!  97 photos later, they returned soaking wet.  We are home now, and I am wondering where the last 2 - 3 hours have gone!!!

Here is a thought for you all today:

I am really happy with who i am and what I have, because who I am is a child of God, and what I have is His!

i am in a very thoughtful mood at the moment, probably having had all that time to myself, and it is making me thing about how fortunate I am.

So here is my Thank You, to everyone who contributes to my life, even when they don't realise it:

Using a CraftsUprint design, I made this card just because I could, and just to say thank you to everyone.  I hope you like it.

Here is a card I made using a Kanban image:

Here is a lovely bright Birthday card I made for someone:

I hope you liked that little selection.
