To Scrapbook...........or Not to Scrapbook
Docrafts 31 Day Blog Prompt Day 16
Well, let me see now........................ the truth is that I don't scrapbook...........it is not something that interests me in any way. I have nowhere to store such things............and if I did it I would have to use the 12 x 12" and that would be an even bigger problem for storage.
On saying all of the above......not meaning to offend anyone who scrapbooks, as I have seen many lovely ones and appreciate the work that goes into them, I do make name cards for people with photos inside and things relevant to those receiving the card. They usually keep them as a memento, so that's a kind of scrapbook for them.
Here is an example of one such card which I made for a friend to give her granny:
I put in photos of the ladies grand daughter and great grand children and her doggie: This one is her grand-daughter when she was little;
and this one is her grand-daughter grown up:
These are her grand children:
Ending up with her doggie:
So in some ways I make scrapbooks for other people in a very small way, but I would not call myself a scrapbooker.

Now that's nice. Combining the two ideas sounds a good workable solution to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for Commenting. I hope you find time to watch some videos - we tend to go for fun rather than completely instructional, but our latest two on ink dusting are probably the most crafty we have put on camera.
By the way, I hate the word verification on blogs. I just delete any that make it through the spam filters.
Hi Alice
DeleteThanks for visiting me today, and thanks for your comments too.
What do you mean about verification? on blogs??

On blogs such as yours, when we comment we have to fill in the words that we can see (it's to stop robots doing Comments!!). You can change your Settings>Posts and Comments - so that it's not necessary.
DeleteThanks Alice..I hope I've changed the setting now.

I'm exactly the same as you with scrapbooking xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Fran
DeleteI think scrappers seem to keep amongst themselves and card makers do the same by the sound of things.
Thank you for visiting my wee blog, and for leaving a comment too.

As a scrapbooker I do think your lovely cards with photos are mini scrapbooks, so personal!! And I laughed about your storage comment, one of the reasons I started scrapping was that i wanted to keep what i had made!!!
ReplyDeleteOh isn't that funny CoventryAnn..........but we are not going to fall out over this. There is room for card makers, scrappers, glass painters and stitchers and any other kind of crafter you can think about, and we all learn from each other.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting my blog today, and I hope you will visit many more times.

Annie, I have never done scrapbooking as I can't justify using one whole 12x12 for one project :) much more use making cards out of them :) I forgot to comment on the post you left the other day but just wanted to say how I thoroughly enjoyed the glimpse into your husbands working world, what an unusual job, I keep listening to voice overs on adverts now and trying to imagine the person reading them.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your inspirational posts

Aw bless you Dawn. Sorry I've not been around today, my back gave out 3 days ago and it just isn't getting better. I thought it was this morning, but it all came back with a gusto. I am off to bed in a minutes and will blog using my ipad.

Scrapbooking is so much fun, and one 12x12 paper can do 4 pages @6x6. Make 4 of your cards with wonderful sayings and make them into a mini booklet.
ReplyDeleteJean, you have just taught me something here. Thank you. I might even give it a try.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my little blog.
