My Other Doggie!

WORD ART WEDNESDAY 28th May 2012

MY OTHER DOGGIE!

Something different to share with you all.

A few weeks ago a dear friend came up from devon and we shared a really crafty weekend together.  We exchanged ideas and tips and my friend brought me a template of a doggie!  You must all know by now that I can't resist doggie tails, so today I set about using the template and made my own version.

I take part in a challenge called Word Art Wednesday.  What happens is that you get given a scripture and you can use it or something else uplifting and make a card.  So I thought, what can I do that's different this time?

As I thought that I turned and caught sight of our wee Bess:

She was looking straight at me and I could almost read her mind.  She was saying "I need to be loved.....can I trust you to always love me?"  Okay then! that was maybe a bit romantic of me but you get the drift!

So then, I'm sorry if I went a bit off topic there as I know this is supposed to be about crafty stuff:

Our pets, whatever kind we have, trust us for everything..food, shelter, affection, health care, exercise and grooming.  We have domesticated our pets to expect this and they lap it up.  Just occasionally they will look at you with very doleful eyes and seem to pick up when we are sad, need an ear to listen or to just keep us company in certain situations.  Animals are really sensitive to our moods, health etc and if you let them, they will help to pick you up.  That's why there are 'pet a dog' schemes who visit people in hospital or in homes.

So, today, my new doggie is going to share a word from the lord with you:  (NO, I HAVE NOT GONE MAD!!)

Here is my entry for Word Art Wednesday this week!

This was taken with the flash on.  I made it from double sided good quality paper and drew the eyes, nose and toes.  I put a collar on it and it is holding the scripture for us all to read!

And here are some more photos of him/her/it with no flash and with flash!

And now he is tired so has laid down.

Thank you for visiting me today.

Many Blessings

  4. Pressed Publish before Commenting on your wonderful evangelistic dog card. Most inventive. Hope you are feeling less sore. I know what it's like, when Hudson rushes in he nearly knocks me off my feet, so I sit down till he settles!

  6. She looks like a border collie and a very sweet dog. I also love this cute little project. That's the obedient kind of dog that doesn't mess on the carpet! LOL Thanks for sharing this with us in this week's challenge at Word Art Wednesday. We're SO blessed and grateful when you play along. Thanks for sharing with us, and we hope you have a blessed and wonderful week. Hope you can join us again next week.
    Blessings,

    1. She is a border collie (1 of 2 we have) . It's so true that the other doggie is cheaper to keep, doesn't need feeding and certainly doesn't mess on the carpet! lol I'm glad you like it.

  9. I LOVE dogs too. I made a card on March 4th, 2012, dedicated to the memory of one of our beloved family dogs called Allie. I believe they are a gift from God to remind us of His love for us. You can find it at:

  10. Another fabulous post Annie! I agree with you about our beloved pets, we provide then with all their physical needs and they return such devotion and love to us, I don't know where I would have been without my beautiful retriever that sadly I lost early last year, she was the one thing that kept me going through a terrible time in my life, I knew she depended on me each day and I couldn't give up on life as I had her to take care of and I thank God that her sent her to me to help me get through that time. I now have my beautiful Cocker spaniel and she is just as loved, she was a rescue dog and I know that we have changed her life for the better she has lots of health issues but I believe she was also sent to us by God as he knew we would love her and help to heal her. Thanks again for your post Annie.

  14. No pets for me as I work all day, but as a child we had cats ..and now I realise how my mother looked after them for us and the cost of vets bills etc. I support a local charity that took my MIL Westie in for us when she went in a care home and found Benji a new home.

  15. Aw Jean, it is sad when our pets have to go in for re- homing for whatever the reason.

At least with the paper doggie there is no vet fees :)

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
