Docrafts 31 Day Blog Prompt
Day 4
So today we have been asked to talk about the style of crafting we do. Now this could mean, what kinds of things do I like to make or it could mean am I a tidy crafter.....or not?
First of all, let's get something cleared up ............I AM NOT A TIDY CRAFTER ! I have to admit it, because I have a lady who comes and helps me in the house and I won't repeat what she says to me sometimes after I've had a really busy crafty time.......it's just a pity there are no emocions in blogger otherwise I'd have to use the one that wags a finger at me!!!!!!!
My style of crafting is interesting (for me anyway) because sometimes I make girlie things and other times I make steampunk things, and i have been known to bleach and screw up paper just to make it look used.
My favourite style has to be STEAMPUNK
The reason I like it is because it is so versatile and you can use anything from newspaper to string to ribbon and buttons all on the one card.....fabulous!!
I also love making word cards, using the names of people: Like this one:
and of course it has to have a tag:
I particularly love the word cards as they can be personalised with photographs and all sorts of things that means something to person receiving it.
Then there are downloads: I just love using downloads to make cards with:
Here are a few downloads I bought and made:
Having just done the above, I have realised that there are no children's cards here. Well, that must be what I should try and do more of I suppose. But I really love making cards for people in general.
I do have another side to me, however, that many people won't know about, and that's my faith...I am a Christian so that can come over in verses I compose for my cards, but usually only if asked.....I am not going to preach at you, so don't worry, but I make Christian cards for people too:
Not forgetting that I make posters, but I don't have photographs of them as they are usually done to commission and are gone very quickly to their owners. Here is a picture of an image I used and then put writing over the top:
I put the word THANKS near the bottom of this image, written in White Dakota font. I use quotes and scripture to make posters out of too.
I know this is not about what I make, but what style I use, and I suppose that I am trying to say my style varies with what is ordered. I just don't make something because I like it, I make something hoping that someone else is going to fall in love with it.
I will finish with this one: I love making stepper cards and tend to make all my Christmas ones in various forms of steppers. This is a Special Day card in Regency style.
So, I will end by saying that I have no idea what style of crafting I do..........anyone out there care to give it a guess??
Love and hugs
See you tomorrow
